
Day 14 conclusions:
- So today, I am turning my attention inward, to love all the aspects of my physical body.
Why
During my practice this morning, I reached my holy grail – my physical wellbeing. My body and I have had a chequered past – chronic bronchitis and asthma through childhood, tick paralysis, back issues, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and then MS – and yet, I have also been blessed with some kind of inner physical resilience that I have never been able to properly and consistently tap except to recover from said issues.
While not being an elite athlete (not by a long shot), I have rowed, sailed, played tennis, bushwalked, skied, taught yoga, borne and breastfed three healthy children and now teach yoga as a business. During my fifty years I have incurred only one minor broken bone and no major dental issues, and still only use spectacles for reading.
So, what I am trying to say is that underneath, I feel there is a strong and resilient individual just waiting for her time in the sun, while there seems to be all of these other things on top. And I would like to experience more of this strong and resilient person on the surface – not just in my capacity to recover.
So today, I am turning my attention inward, to love all the aspects of my physical body.
